Hayes Tutu Tuesday: The Unicorn Tutu Strikes Again! Well, darling, it's Tutu Tuesday and that can only mean one thing: sparkles, tutus, and a sprinkle of magic, right? Okay, maybe not the magic...but we can dream, right? I’m currently rocking the pinkest, glitziest, most fabulous tutu you've ever seen. Imagine a unicorn on a sugar rush, wearing the fluffiest tulle you’ve ever seen… yep, that's what my Tutu Tuesday vibe is all about today! And yes, I know what you’re thinking: "This Tutu Tuesday is going to be EPIC!" I've got my eye on a *real* unicorn tutu today. Yep, those gorgeous iridescent unicorn tutus with the sparkly rainbow trims and glittery fabric. They’re not easy to come by though. I know where to look in the boutiques near Soho but it’s a good 40-minute journey by Tube… Oh, the struggles! So instead of searching all day long, I’m going to just wear a normal, simple tutu but glam it up! *I have to wear some kind of tutu though – It's #Tututuesday! No ifs, ands or buts! My latest tutu is actually a classic. Remember all those Disney movies where the princess is doing a whimsical ballet sequence? Yes, that kind of classic, beautiful and with multiple layers of soft pink tulle. The trick though? It’s not so soft anymore as I’ve worn it to three separate birthday parties this year (all themed) so I’ve just added lots of sparkly and glitzy rhinestones, sewn them on one by one! Yep, so sparkly you need sun glasses! My tutu isn’t just beautiful it’s like an art installation… of rhinestones! My hair today? It’s like a *magical unicorn mane! I haven’t had the time to find my unicorn hair accessories so instead I went all-out with hairspray, hair clips and glitter to give that “extra” effect. Yes, a very glittery “extra” effect… You need to understand, the Tutu Tuesday #Tututuesday effect is never enough, the bigger the better and glitter and sequins will never go out of style, no matter what those people on Instagram might say. You guys know I can’t resist a disco. So, the highlight of the day is definitely Hayes. *I’m not sure why we always make the trip to Hayes on Tuesdays? It just sort of happened… a Tuesday tradition and tradition we are. *I know… It’s really strange for me, a dancer, to even think about *tradition*, but when you do ballet as many years as I have (let's just say that it’s over 10), then you realise traditions are just there, like a little ballet step… just a necessary thing to do. It's just how things work. You get into a rhythm and things start to happen in a sequence… It’s a little dance in itself. But I am totally overthinking things because it’s Friday night. But I’m sure a unicorn tutu, sequins and disco will give me the right feeling to end the week perfectly… Right?! Oh Hayes! Hayes you make me happy! The disco we always go to – *that* one on the High Street (because we wouldn’t want to divulge a secret) is full of pink walls, glitterballs and glitter-tastic people that make it feel like the 1970s and the 1980s. Oh, I do love this place. Everyone's feeling themselves. And, let’s be honest – what's not to love about feeling yourself? We always get to meet up with friends at the door of this disco too - *we* are the main attraction – with our amazing tutus. If it’s not Tutu Tuesday – we’re normally in our leotards or dance gear. But not *this* particular place! The bouncer knows how much we love tutus, they let us in with any style! We have to stay glam here - and that’s why I choose to glam it up today. You guys understand. It’s Tutu Tuesday so we can’t even. *So. Much. Fun.* What kind of tutu would be best for Hayes? Well, honestly it’s about confidence more than style in this disco…but today, I think I will pick one of the 1970s-inspired tulle skirts, just like in “Saturday Night Fever”. A few more rhinestones to top off that dance floor vibe! It needs to look *just* right – like something that could be on an early Kylie Minogue album cover… Oh how I love Kylie! And we need something that can handle the disco floor and all its bumps…because we have to really *feel* that floor. Let me be clear: we really *feel* the disco floor at that place in Hayes – It’s pretty special… we really dance and have fun until the last beat. There are so many cute, disco vibes, with tutus being perfect for dancing the night away. It’s the *best* place in the whole world! Where Are You Tutu Tuesday?
Ok, you know the routine: It’s a Tutu Tuesday ritual. So where else would we find the best disco for Tutu Tuesdays? I mean…we are open to other ideas for *where* to wear our tutus! Any recommendations for London and even all over the UK?! *Even though I’m living in Hayes, I want to have more inspiration! * London: Do any of you ladies (and gentleman) know where I should visit for a perfect tutu Tuesday in London? We’ve done a little pub-crawling before - there's one on the North bank of the Thames with great neon signs and that would definitely make a *super* photo-op in a pink tutu. * Paris, Florence and New York: Where in these places can I go for a really fabulous Tutu Tuesday. Remember you guys need to find some truly glam places and the trend is all over instagram #tututuesday. Let me know!
