Vienna, Oh Vienna! My Pink Tutu Travels – Post #82

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for another delightful blog post from your favourite pink tutu-clad travel companion, Emma. This week, I’ve swapped my Derbyshire meadows for the grand city of Vienna, Austria – a city known for its regal charm, breathtaking architecture, and, of course, its rich musical heritage.

Train Travel and Tutu Dreams

Getting here was an adventure in itself! I boarded a sleeper train from Prague, relishing the romantic sway of the carriages as I dreamt of tutus twirling through Viennese ballrooms. It’s a little-known fact that I adore travelling by train. The rhythmic clatter, the cosy compartment, the chance to people-watch... it’s like a miniature stage production all its own. And imagine my joy when a charming gentleman, en route to Salzburg, told me the most wonderful anecdote about his great-grandmother, who had a penchant for wearing tutus on her daily walks around the city! Now, isn’t that a lovely story to brighten even the most dreary journey?

A City of Dance

Vienna is simply bursting with a history of dance, music and drama. From the glorious Vienna State Opera to the captivating performances of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, there’s an abundance of cultural delights to soak up. Yesterday, I was absolutely charmed by a performance at the Hofburg Palace. The grandeur of the palace, combined with the graceful movements of the dancers, left me quite speechless! Imagine, twirling under the watchful eye of royalty... it truly was an experience that sent shivers down my spine.

On the Trail of Tutuland

My quest for the ultimate tutu continues, of course, and Vienna hasn’t disappointed! I’ve already fallen in love with the whimsical shop windows and boutiques along Kärntner Straße. My heart fluttered when I discovered a small antique shop crammed with velvet costumes and vintage ballet shoes - pure tutu heaven! I picked up a pair of mint green satin slippers, oh so dainty and delicate, that would be perfect for a graceful twirl through the city park.

A Pink-Filled Day in Vienna

Today, I plan on indulging in all things pink. There’s a lovely vintage clothing store just a stone’s throw from my charming little B&B that promises a trove of delightful pink frocks and accessories. After that, I’m off to explore the enchanting Schönbrunn Palace Gardens, the most magical place for an afternoon of contemplation, punctuated with pirouettes, of course! This evening, I’ll be enjoying a delightful musical soirée at one of Vienna’s famous coffee houses, with a performance by the Viennese Boys' Choir - my very own "Pink Tutu Vienna" performance!

Fashion Find of the Day:

I stumbled upon the most gorgeous pink velvet clutch at a quaint little shop nestled on a cobbled street. It was love at first sight - it matched my newest pair of pink pumps perfectly, so needless to say, it came home with me! Now, all that's left to do is find the perfect outfit to showcase my fabulous new acquisition. Perhaps a billowing, candy floss pink dress, or maybe a playful blush-coloured blouse and a sassy pink tulle skirt? I can't wait to put together the perfect ensemble!

Vienna is truly a treasure chest of inspiration, with its breathtaking beauty and its echoes of a time when grace and elegance reigned supreme. I know you are all joining me on this magical adventure - it’s as though the entire city is encouraging us to embrace our inner ballerina, to twirl through life with joy, a hint of mischief, and a splash of vibrant pink!

Until next week, darling readers, may your every step be as graceful as a ballerina's leap, and may your days be filled with as much pink as your heart desires.

Always remember,

Embrace the tutu!

Your ever-pink, ever-dancing,

Emma
