Vienna Calling! (Post No. 83)

Bonjour mes chéries! Emma here, fresh from the whirlwind of Vienna, Austria, a city that truly embodies elegance, beauty, and that certain je ne sais quoi. This week, my darling readers, I'm feeling especially inspired, having spent the last seven days immersed in all things pink, glamorous, and tutu-tastic.

As you all know, Vienna has a special place in my heart. It's like the ultimate Parisian playground - overflowing with charm and historic opulence, with coffee shops where the pastries seem to melt in your mouth and grand theatres that echo with the sound of beautiful music. And let's not forget the fashion! Vienna, darlings, is the epitome of chic - think velvet, cream, and silky fabrics, all blended with an effortless elegance that just takes my breath away!

Of course, my adventures in Vienna are never complete without a dose of tutu-filled fun. I have to confess, this time around I've been truly spoilt for choice. The Wiener Staatsballet (Vienna State Ballet) was totally smashing, and I found myself completely captivated by their interpretation of Giselle. I mean, those tutus were like clouds of gossamer, and the entire show was just divine! But the highlight of my Viennese escapades, hands down, was the ballet showstopper. I just had to see The Nutcracker! Vienna is renowned for its Christmas performances, and the Viennese Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera) totally delivered. I'm still humming the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy"! Oh, I simply adore those waltzes. I must admit, there's no better way to spend a magical evening than wrapped up in my Pink Tutu in a breathtakingly beautiful opera house!

My pink tutus are absolutely everywhere I go. And that’s not just me, darling, I saw some fantastic tutu looks at the Wiener Staatsoper. There were these magnificent feather boas, so extravagant I couldn’t resist whipping one into a stylish, quirky hat, of course, and pairing it with my signature pink tutu. Oh my, it looked divine, even with that chilly Vienna breeze whipping around my tutu-clad knees. The sheer versatility of a tutu - I swear, it can take you anywhere. I’ve even discovered that it even works for lunching at a grand cafe. The Viennese have an eye for the finer things that means you can even pull off wearing a full-length pink tutu with a chic tweed jacket! I swear, you wouldn't believe how well-dressed the Viennese people are, especially the gentleman with those perfectly tailored wool jackets and charming bowler hats ! Their style is so sharp!

While I was in Vienna, I had to treat myself to a few designer finds, darling, and found the most beautiful, exquisite silk scarf with a sombre pink print to pair with my trusty pink tutu. You just have to go to the Hofburg* * palace for the most enchanting vintage designer finds you will ever see. It's so worth a visit. Totally the place for a special, one-of-a-kind treat. Of course, you know, I just had to visit one of Vienna’s iconic shops. Yes, darling, it’s a must to pop into the Swarovski shop. There was such a selection of beautiful and sparkling treasures, all perfectly curated. They were all so chic and the presentation, well you have to give credit to the Viennese! They know a thing or two about making things sparkle! But darling, nothing shines like the way my pink tutu sparkles against all that glamour. You really do stand out amongst the crowd with my favourite pink tutus, especially in a city like Vienna!

Of course, darling, no trip to Vienna would be complete without a carriage ride. Vienna, like Paris, really is all about that elegance and joie de vivre. Think gorgeous architecture mixed with a stylish coffee and sacher torte or two, and a little culture thrown in for good measure, and of course, those iconic carriages - it’s such an iconic way to see the city - it was truly magical! The carriage took me right into the heart of the Old Town where I fell head over heels with the Stephansdom cathedral! It is a splendid building with so many beautiful historical stories. Just picture it, dear reader, with its soaring towers, adorned with its intricate detail. And there are just so many quaint little boutiques. I simply had to spend an afternoon hunting down the perfect gift for my dear mum in one of the charming antique shops. There were all sorts of pretty things just waiting for a home, including some gorgeous, vintage lace - I can just imagine how elegant it would look with my pink tutus, darling!

After a busy week of sightseeing, theatre, ballet, shopping, and all things glamorous, my journey in Vienna culminated with a rather grand, exclusive gala dinner, celebrating the anniversary of a prestigious, Vienna society club. It’s hard to imagine a more glamorous setting than a luxurious palace. I arrived looking like a true princess - all glittery sparkle, of course, and my pink tutu - pink always works , right, darling! I danced with a charming gentleman all evening and we chatted about everything under the Viennese sun - ballet, fashion, the royal family you name it!

On the way back home, a luxurious first class sleeper cabin on the night train was a complete luxury after a busy week. After an indulgent night of peaceful rest in the most comfortable of sleeping quarters, I arrived back in Derbyshire* in * England, feeling all fresh and inspired. Now it's time to take to the* ballet studio. The * pink tutu *waits. It never disappoints, and there's nothing like dancing under the stars in my tutu - I am already imagining my *next adventures.

Until next Wednesday, darlings!

P.S Don’t forget to visit pink-tutu.com each Wednesday to follow my adventures. Keep twirling !
