Vienna Waltz - Post #151 🩰💕

Dearest readers,

Another week, another Wednesday, another whirl through Europe, and wouldn't you know it, my pink tutu has brought me to the heart of Viennese charm - Vienna itself! As you all know, Vienna is a city of music, and not just any music, it’s the birthplace of the waltz, that romantic and graceful dance which gets your heart pounding and your feet tapping in time. You wouldn't catch me waltz-ing in my pink tutu (although I've heard they have amazing balls!), but just being surrounded by this city's waltzing spirit has set my tutu twirling heart aflutter!

It's funny how my journey has taken me so far from my little Derbyshire village, but as much as I love home and all the delicious local produce, I love seeing the world in my pink tutu, experiencing all the different cultures and embracing all the delights that each new place has to offer.

Today's adventures began early, the aroma of fresh viennese bread filling my nostrils as I walked down cobbled streets towards the Naschmarkt market. Now, as you know, my pink tutu has taken me to some incredible food markets all over the world, but Vienna truly upped its game! Think freshly baked strudels, luscious fruits of all shapes and sizes, spices and herbs in a dazzling array of colours, and cheeses that would make even the most discerning cheese connoisseur drool with delight. You simply have to see it to believe it!

And to make this Viennese wonderland even more perfect, the Naschmarkt also boasts some incredible stalls dedicated to fashion and handmade crafts! Oh my goodness, what a delight for the eyes! As I always say, a stylish outfit is incomplete without the perfect accessories, and trust me, the selection at the Naschmarkt was astounding! My heart especially melted for the vintage jewellery, so much glitz and glam, perfect to compliment any pink tutu. 😉

But even with all this loveliness surrounding me, it was the Opera House that I was truly looking forward to. Vienna and ballet? What a match made in heaven! It’s simply the place to be for lovers of graceful movement and stunning stage design, and you’d never believe this, but today was the opening night of ‘The Nutcracker'! I simply adore the Nutcracker. This story with its Christmas magic, adorable mice, and mischievous toys is truly one of the most magical and enchanting ballets out there.

My day wasn't finished, though. I couldn't leave Vienna without experiencing the magic of its legendary cafés! These places are simply bursting with charm and elegance. Just imagine; Viennese coffee in delicate china cups, freshly baked cakes, and beautiful, intricate interiors! It's enough to transport you back in time.

And you know me, a ballet dancer always in motion! Of course, I indulged in a quick trip to the Wiener Staatsoper for some incredible live classical music. A performance by a string quartet in the grand, historical space was just what my soul needed. The delicate music drifted over me as I sipped my coffee and pondered all the great artists that must have walked those very halls, inspired to create their magnificent pieces.

After a whirlwind of cultural delights, a Viennese dinner of creamy goulash, rich schnitzel, and dumplings was waiting for me, followed by a quick glance at my new vintage brooch and a quick twirl of my pink tutu. A ballet dancer’s life is indeed one of indulgence, wouldn't you agree?

This has truly been an incredible day in Vienna! A reminder that sometimes all you need is a touch of pink tutu magic to transform an ordinary day into something truly unforgettable. But that’s not all! Stay tuned, because next week we’ll be venturing beyond the city and out into the stunning Austrian countryside. Who knows what adventures await in my pink tutu!

Until then, keep twirling and may your life be filled with beauty, elegance, and a touch of pink! 💕

Lots of love,

Emma
