Pink Tutu Vienna - Post #368 - Vienna Whirlwind!

Hello lovelies!

It's Wednesday, so it's time for my Vienna adventures, and let me tell you, this week has been an absolute whirlwind of tutus, trains, and truly fabulous fashion!

For those of you just joining my pink journey, I'm Emma, a ballerina from Derbyshire with a passion for tutus and everything pink! This week I'm sharing my adventures in Vienna, the beautiful capital of Austria, where I’ve just had the most amazing time. I came to see the ballet of course, but it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Vienna blog post without mentioning that I took every opportunity for a fashion fiesta along the way!

So let's dive straight into it!

My Viennese Waltz

Vienna is known for its rich musical heritage, and the ballet scene here is simply magical. On Wednesday (yes, it's a Wednesday tradition here too!), I graced the glorious Vienna State Opera House in a shocking pink tutu - it simply had to be, darling! I went to see the iconic "Swan Lake," which was just breathtaking. The graceful movements of the dancers, the exquisite costumes, and the captivating music transported me to a whole other world! Honestly, you could practically smell the pink feathers!

A Fairy Tale Ride

After the ballet, I took a leisurely carriage ride through the historic streets of Vienna. I think carriages are just so glamorous. A perfect touch of old world charm! It reminded me of fairy tales, but with a decidedly more fashionable touch, obviously! And it provided the perfect opportunity for me to pose for a few fabulous photos! The setting sun glinted on my tulle, giving it an ethereal, almost magical glow - just what every tutu deserves!

Shopping Shenanigans

Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without a spot of shopping! I was in heaven at the famous "Kärtner Strasse." So many beautiful stores full of exquisite clothes! And, let's be honest, there's no such thing as "too many pink dresses!" I couldn't resist picking up a new lace-trimmed pink number and a pair of feather boa earrings - just the perfect touch of flamboyant chic to go with my evening tutu.

Train Travels & Tutus

But I've been in Vienna this week, as always travelling via train! You all know my motto - travelling by train is not just a way to get somewhere, it's an adventure! You’ve got so much space for your outfit changes and tutus - even a little black ballet bag and some cute heels! Plus, the journey through the stunning Austrian countryside was picture-perfect! Just me, a pink tutu, and the most gorgeous scenery… and it just happened to coincide with the glorious setting of the sun casting a pinky-orange hue over everything. It felt like something straight out of a fairy tale, but without the princes (but if a Prince Charming was waiting for me at the station, that would be pretty delightful too, wink wink).

Tutus Across Time

So I have been visiting some of the historical museums, delving into Viennese history and fashion - as every self-respecting ballet aficionado should! My visit to the Vienna Museum of Art History really captured the elegant grace and elegance of bygone eras and the stunning historical ballet costumes from the 18th and 19th centuries were absolute heaven! This sparked a thought... could these tutus be the ancestor to my pink tulle masterpiece?

Vienna has a long tradition of embracing the arts, and you can feel it everywhere you go! This is why my Tutus Across Time post next week is going to be about all of these elegant vintage tutus.

My Aim In Life

My dear readers, you know my life's aim is to spread the joy and beauty of tutus! But you don’t need to wait for an exciting travel story. There are ways to bring the spirit of Vienna into your everyday life! Every Tuesday, I’m holding pink tutu events all over the world. I want everyone to join in, feel the magic of movement, and have fun! It’s not about being a perfect dancer - it's about embracing the joy of expressing yourself through movement and unleashing the pink goddess inside.

And remember, when in doubt, rock that tutu and always embrace the fabulous side of life!

With lots of love and twirls,

Emma
