#PinkTutuVienna: Vienna Waltz - Post 370! 🩰🌸

Guten Tag, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of #PinkTutuVienna! This week I'm swirling, twirling, and prancing my way through the streets of Vienna, and let me tell you, it's pure magic! 💫

Vienna is a city of emperors, waltzes, and oh-so-much pink! I practically fell in love with the place before I even arrived, and I can assure you, it only gets better with each passing minute. I've been wearing my brand new dusty rose tutu, you know the one, with the fluffy pink pom-poms! It's perfectly in keeping with Vienna's enchanting fairytale vibe. I was even stopped on the street by a little girl who told me she wanted to be a ballerina just like me, and you've never seen a tutu so ecstatic as mine! It's truly the life! 💖

Speaking of ecstatic tutus, I've been having the most magnificent time at the Vienna State Opera. Seriously, the Wiener Staatsoper is every ballerina's dream. From the beautiful building itself, with its grand staircases and elaborate frescoes, to the incredible performances, it’s a feast for the eyes and ears. This week they are showing "La Traviata" - sigh I simply can’t wait! It’s an opulent experience, and the costumes? Divine. I can just imagine the grandeur of those ball gowns - just waiting to be spun, swished and sashayed across the stage! 👠

I haven't let a single opportunity to catch a show escape me this week, and that's partly because I've been attending all sorts of fantastic ballet performances around the city. Did you know there’s an incredible street dance tradition here, which somehow incorporates ballet, polka, waltz, and the occasional bit of Viennese folk dancing! Talk about exciting. The local kids put on their best tutu outfits, some of them extremely flamboyant, I must admit, and really give it their all, even dancing on tables in their favorite coffeehouses. You might not even recognise your favourite Vienna latte after a couple of hours - a good sign in my opinion! 😜

Speaking of Viennese coffee, I’m absolutely smitten with the local cafes here, too. I spent an afternoon in a cafe called Sacher, the original one founded in 1832 by Franz Sacher and famous for the exquisite Sacher-Torte. You'll have to forgive me, but I am just slightly obsessed with cake! I sampled several delicious Viennese pastries that they generously brought to our table, including the traditional Apfelstrudel, or ‘apple strudel’. Let me just say, if you visit Vienna you HAVE to try it! And they've been more than happy to see my pink tutu waltzing around the tables! ✨

But let’s face it, every good trip is all about fashion! The shops here are incredible. Every designer you can imagine - I am absolutely obsessed with the fabulous milliners here, just think fabulous wide brimmed hats and amazing feathered fascinators, they have it all! So many lovely fabrics and colours to choose from, including, of course, a LOT of pink. I even snagged a delightful vintage hat with a beautiful pink satin ribbon – it perfectly matches my tutu and has added an extra touch of chic to my Viennese look! 😉

And to top it all off, Vienna’s train system has become one of my new favorite ways to explore a new city. It's so quick, easy, and, most importantly, picturesque! So far I've travelled all over the city, catching the train in a charming pastel pink colour and stopping at the Schönbrunn Palace to admire its fairytale-esque beauty!

Honestly, you have no idea how much I love the horses. Austria and Hungary were so closely linked to each other before WW1. Hungary's aristocracy had the most spectacular horses, and the stables were often as magnificent as the castles!

After all this exploring, I'm utterly enchanted with Vienna! It truly feels like a magical world where I can twirl, waltz, and feel like a real-life princess in my favourite pink tutu! You can bet that Vienna will be top of my list for future tutu-tastic trips.

*What have you been up to this week? Did you go to see any ballet? Have you tried any beautiful Viennese pastries? Let me know in the comments below! 💕 *

Until next Wednesday, keep twirling! 😘
