Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #504 - Whirlwind Waltz Through Vienna! šŸ©°šŸ’–

Well, hello my darling tutu enthusiasts! Itā€™s your favourite Derbyshire girl, Emma, and this week we're dancing into Vienna! šŸŽ¶

I know what youā€™re thinking - ā€œVienna? Surely not for you, Emma? Isnā€™t it all opera and schnitzel? Where are the tutus?!ā€ Donā€™t you worry your pretty little ballet bun, lovelies, Vienna surprised even me with its elegance, history, and of course, ballet magic.

Before I launch into a veritable waltz of words about this city (thatā€™s what all my fellow tutu-loving dance fans do when we see beautiful things, donā€™t we?!), letā€™s do our usual weekly catch-up!

Pink-tutu.com is Officially a Hit!

Yes! Since last week, my darling, you lot have really given Pink-tutu.com a boost! My dear friend, Charlotte, a lovely lass whoā€™s been a keen ballerina since she was a tot, has taken to wearing a pink tutu EVERY DAY! ā€œItā€™s my armour of confidence!ā€, she says. Itā€™s wonderful, she says that her colleagues have even taken to complimenting her new bold look, and have taken to wearing some tutus too! The magic is spreading. I do believe we may see the rise of the pink tutu! šŸ’–

A Tale of Two Tututues

Well, of course you lot already know about my fabulous pink tulle tutu, Princess Petal! (You know she has a proper name, darling! Donā€™t you worry!) It travelled with me to Vienna, and it was certainly quite the diva at the Wiener Staatsoper.

I made a promise to myself to wear Princess Petal to all ballet performances, so I couldnā€™t just waltz in with any old outfit! Now, let me tell you, I knew Princess Petal was going to be an absolute dream to twirl in Vienna, with all those grand balls, historic palaces, and beautiful, elegant cobbled streets. And my sweet princess did not disappoint! She whipped those Viennese waltz steps like they were born for her! The other dancers were green with envy (some even asked to touch the Princess Petal tulle!!!).
And of course, Princess Petal made an absolutely staggering arrival into the Wiener Staatsoper! Everyone gave her the star treatment. They were very good about it all, and even let us in for free, because I do think my Princess Petal tutu was the only truly fashionable thing theyā€™d seen in years! Haha, just kidding, my darlingā€¦ kind ofā€¦ šŸ˜‰

But even the best diva needs an understudy! Well, Vienna was no different. You might remember my fabulous little white, tulle tutu, which, believe it or not, doesn't have a name yet! I thought Vienna might be a good place for this new tutu to come into her own. You know what? Itā€™s the most elegant thing ever! And what a stunner for the stunning cityscape, and the wonderful ballrooms and waltzing salons of Vienna! Pure bliss.

Whatā€™s in store? Viennese Ballet Extravaganza!

Okay, so, the real story behind my trip to Vienna? Well, it all starts with this magical dance! Yes, darling, I got to see a live ballet performance in Vienna. And, what a performance it was! La Bayadere! A magical mix of dance, music, storytelling, and all the beautiful colours imaginable! Oh my, darling, youā€™ll never imagine what they did to that last sceneā€¦ and it all wrapped up with a big beautiful dance from a ballet company called the Vienna State Opera Ballet! What can I sayā€¦ It really left me feeling chuffed to bits, if you know what I meanā€¦ bliss from start to finish!

What I also got from this tripā€¦ Fashion Inspiration! I must say the people in Vienna are incredibly chic. They dress up so beautifully, just for everyday life. I was positively smitten! Think sharp, tailored looks, stunning details (yes, even with the guys!), and the chicest little touches, just like their historical and dreamy architecture!

And here's something else that just blew me away ā€“ I found a shop where they have tutus just for street wear! They called it "Ballet Styleā€! My darling, let me tell you, I found my little whimsical-ness-inspired-wonderland. The perfect way to find something fun, comfortable and beautiful for everyday life! Now, who's in the mood for a waltz! šŸ©°

Viennese ballet: the history is pretty much dreamy.

Of course, when I got there I just had to see what was what in the Viennese ballet world. Now, I found some truly spectacular information. It turns out Vienna has quite a history when it comes to ballet. This goes way back to the late 17th century, but everything got even better in the early 1800s. That's when ballet went through a little transformation. Ballet started getting a little more artistic, a little more imaginative. A lot more fun and, in turn, a lot more dramatic! The world was captivated by ballerina magic! You wouldn't believe all the beautifully crafted ballet shoes being created back then! Imagine it! The most delightful dance shows taking over the Viennese scenes. Absolutely lovely! And as always, it was *ballet dancing that brought it all together and put Vienna firmly on the world stage!

Horses & Train Travels: A Dream in Pink Tulle.

Oh, darling, you won't believe how magical it was getting around in Vienna! First, I rode a horse-drawn carriage. Don't be fooled by the romance - these carriages are a big deal for a good reason. Itā€™s an age-old tradition in this amazing city. Plus, there's something timeless and truly wonderful about it, don't you think?

Next up? Train travel, my darling! As always, so elegant, so convenient! You wouldn't believe the beautiful scenery we whizzed by! My little Princess Petal tutu seemed to twirl even faster on the train - the ultimate journey for a pink tutu girl, donā€™t you think?

My ā€˜Vienneseā€™ Treat

Now, we all know my favourite treats: schnitzel and sachertorte! Yes, I do love my traditional fare, but on this trip, I was absolutely delighted by an unexpected treat! Now, thereā€™s this fantastic, cute cafe right by the Vienna State Opera! This adorable little cafe calls itself ā€˜Tutu Cafeā€™. And, guess what? Every single person was wearing a pink tutu. My dear, I have never felt so much at home anywhere! I had to get the most adorable pink cupcake with white chocolate frosting, it had the most beautiful sugar tutu and little white flowers! My darling, it was truly magical.

Until next Wednesday my little sweethearts!

Oh my goodness, well, this blog post really did go on, didn't it? My darling! I had such a good time telling you all about Vienna - the ballet, the tutus, the cakes, the travel. What more can a girl want! šŸ’–

As usual, do keep in touch, let me know what you've been up to, tell me what you thought of Vienna! You know my dear readers: I always love to hear your stories.

And of course, darling, let's never forget why we're here. The only way to be completely and utterly you. The pinkest, twirliest, most glamorous you! šŸ’–

Keep twirling, Emma
