Vienna: Waltz of Wonder (Blog Post #561)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Vienna blog post! 🩰💖

I'm writing to you from Vienna, a city that's as enchanting as a waltz and as pretty as a ballet costume. I arrived here by train, which I absolutely adore. It's so much more romantic than flying.

My darling, the scenery whizzing past the windows as we traversed through the Austrian countryside was a treat for the eyes! And you just know I couldn't resist striking a pose or two on the carriage – in my pink tutu of course. The other passengers seemed rather taken aback, but what can I say, I just had to spread the pink tutu joy, wouldn't you agree? 😉

Oh, the things I've done in Vienna! I've explored the beautiful streets of the Innere Stadt (inner city) with its grand architecture, stopping to admire the shops – oh, the shops! There are just so many gorgeous boutiques bursting with beautiful garments! I simply cannot resist indulging in a spot of clothes shopping, especially in a city like this.

A Glimpse into Vienna's Cultural Tapestry

This week, I decided to immerse myself in Vienna's rich cultural heritage. Did you know that the city is actually considered the birthplace of ballet? That’s right! From Mozart to Beethoven to Johann Strauss, Vienna has been a playground for musical geniuses for centuries.

Now, who wouldn't want to spend a few hours immersed in such musical grandeur? This week, I ventured to the Vienna State Opera House, a majestic building with an absolutely awe-inspiring interior. I'm not going to lie, darling, I felt like I'd stepped into a fairytale!

The highlight of my evening was definitely the ballet performance, “Giselle”. Oh, darling, the costumes, the storytelling, the graceful movements - absolutely mesmerising. The music had me swaying in my seat, and the performance had me entranced for the entire two hours. I even had a moment of complete inspiration! The ballerina’s final pose was simply divine – she’d thrown her arms wide open and reached for the sky with her pink ballet slippers. Do you know, I had to try it myself! It just screamed elegance and pure feminine energy. 🩰✨

Speaking of which, I’m completely captivated by ballet history right now! I'm fascinated by the evolution of the tutu, and I've been doing quite a bit of research on the history of its transformation from a practical garment for dancers to the symbol of femininity it is today. From the tutu romantique with its billowing layers to the tutu pancake with its structured, tighter form, the story of the tutu is full of artistic evolution and a little bit of magic!

A Touch of Ballet Romance

Of course, I couldn't leave Vienna without taking a spin on a carriage through the beautiful Schönbrunn Palace gardens. Let's just say, my Pink Tutu made quite the statement! As we trotted past, I was struck by the romance of the scene - the palace's grand facades bathed in the golden hues of the afternoon sun, the horses clip-clopping rhythmically, and of course, my pink tulle twirling around me like a delicate cloud. Pure bliss!

Oh darling, don't think for a second that Vienna has put a damper on my ambition to have everyone twirling in a pink tutu. I managed to give a little speech in the city centre, surrounded by curious onlookers. They didn't quite understand at first, but I managed to convince a couple of young girls to join in and do a twirl.

They loved it! As soon as I told them about my dream, they ran off to their mothers asking if they could borrow their dresses and come join me again later. It's such a thrill for me to see others embracing the pink tutu lifestyle – it makes me feel like my little dream is finally starting to come true!

And finally, to bring this week's blog post to a close, let me leave you with this thought, my dears.

There’s a beautiful elegance to life in a pink tutu. Every twirl, every hop, every jump, every pose is an opportunity to embody feminine grace. It’s a feeling of lightness, of confidence, of utter joy! Why wouldn’t you want to wear a pink tutu, darling? So go ahead, try it! What do you have to lose? 💕

Until next Wednesday, my dears,

Emma xx
