Dearest Pink Tutu Peeps,
It's Wednesday, and you know what that means? It's time for another installment of the Pink Tutu Diaries! Today, I'm whisking you away to the glorious city of Vienna, a place where history swirls with culture and where even the cobblestones seem to dance a waltz.
The train journey was, as always, pure bliss. There's something about the rhythmic clatter of wheels on tracks and the gentle sway of the carriage that just screams "ballet!" As I looked out the window, I envisioned the countryside as a stage, with the snow-dusted fields and shimmering lakes taking on the role of breathtaking backdrops.
I arrived in Vienna just in time for a spot of lunch at a quaint cafe called "Cafe Sacher," famed for its delectable chocolate cake. The smell of fresh coffee and sweet pastries was simply intoxicating. I settled into a velvet armchair and devoured a slice of Sacher-Torte, my pink tutu catching the light from the stained-glass windows, making it the star of the show, of course!
Speaking of the stage, this evening I am attending a breathtaking ballet performance at the Vienna State Opera. I'm so excited to witness the artistry of the dancers in such a renowned theatre, and I just can't wait to see all the gorgeous costumes and set design. The Viennese Ballet has such a rich history, and I'm thrilled to experience it firsthand. I will be sure to share all the details in my next post - prepare yourselves for a visual feast!
You might be wondering how I can afford all this travelling. Well, the answer lies in the pirouette! I earn a living performing in ballet shows all over the world. It's a magical way to combine my passion for dance with the opportunity to explore new and wondrous places. Each performance is like a chance to share the joy of ballet with audiences worldwide and hopefully inspire even a few people to twirl in their own pink tutus. Because truly, the world needs a little more sparkle and grace, wouldn't you agree?
And speaking of sparkle, Vienna has certainly stolen my heart. I can't wait to explore the city's hidden treasures – its imperial palaces, bustling markets, and romantic squares. I have already planned to visit the Schönbrunn Palace, one of the most impressive royal residences in the world. Imagine all the exquisite costumes, elegant dances, and royal etiquette that must have taken place within those walls. The sheer history and beauty are truly enchanting!
Later today, I am indulging in a delightful ballet class at the Vienna State Opera Ballet School. It's a great opportunity to polish my own technique and immerse myself in the world of dance, and I always leave classes feeling revitalized and inspired. I might even wear my tutu for class – a touch of Derbyshire flair in Vienna!
As for my own style choices this week, I am drawn to the delicate, feminine elegance of Viennese fashion. Imagine soft, flowing silhouettes in elegant hues of ivory, blush, and lilac – a perfect blend of whimsical charm and refined grace. It's like a fairytale come to life, and I'm not afraid to borrow some inspiration.
Don't forget, dear readers, the key to embracing the pink tutu lifestyle is confidence! It's about having the courage to express yourself with colour, creativity, and a dash of magic. Just like those gorgeous horses that are so prevalent in Vienna, it's all about finding your own unique gait, your own inner rhythm. Whether you choose to wear your pink tutu at the ballet, at a horse show, or even just to the supermarket, I encourage you to dance to your own beat, to twirl with a smile, and let your true beauty shine through!
Stay tuned for more updates from my Viennese adventure!
Lots of twirls and hugs,
Emma x
