Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 718 - Ballet Bliss in the City of Waltz

Hello, darling dears! Itā€™s Wednesday again, which means itā€™s time for a new Pink Tutu Vienna post, direct from the heart of this beautiful, waltzing city! Iā€™ve been positively swirled up in the most fabulous whirlwind of tutus and twirls these past few days, and Iā€™m bursting to share all the delights!

First things first: let's talk outfits, because a girlā€™s got to look the part, right? Vienna is the perfect place to unleash your inner ballerina - think elegant layers, pretty blouses, and, of course, my signature pink tutu! The Vienna State Opera is so utterly chic - I felt right at home, a delicate wisp of pink in amongst all the velvet and grandeur!

Speaking of the State Opera, Iā€™ve been lucky enough to see the most enchanting performance this week ā€“ Swan Lake! It was simply breathtaking! The dancers, oh, they were magical! Such incredible control and grace - they truly flew across the stage. The costumes were to die for - feathered and shimmering, a ballerina's dream. And the musicā€¦ sighs dreamily. Every single note sent chills down my spine. My favourite part? The final scene, where all the swans swirl in perfect unison. You could feel the emotion of the whole story through every movement, it was absolutely mesmerizing.

Of course, I had to take advantage of Viennaā€™s beautiful architecture - a waltz through the Old City was the perfect way to work up an appetite after the show. The Vienna Philharmonicā€™s Musikverein is just as stunning inside as out! You canā€™t get much more elegant than this golden-age music hall, can you?

Now, a bit about the tutus, my lovely loves! Viennaā€™s history is truly steeped in dance. I spent the day at the Vienna Dance Museum, and let me tell you, it was like stepping into a magical fairytale world. You could feel the passion of generations of ballerinas through every exhibit - every single tutu was a work of art, and the delicate embroidery, oh, it simply took my breath away! You wouldn't believe some of the amazing stories I heard about tutu history - did you know that the tutu actually started out as just a way to make dancing easier?! I can't even imagine life without them now!

And for my little tutu-wearing fairies out there, I found the most amazing little ballet school tucked away in a quiet courtyard, right off the bustling Karntner Strasse! It was all white and airy with pretty wooden barres ā€“ perfect for perfecting your pirouettes. My inner ballerina went a bit giddy! You can just imagine, the gentle tinkling of the piano as those little ballerinas practise, with the image of that famous swirling, dancing Viennese waltz swirling around them... Pure magic!

Speaking of magicalā€¦ you canā€™t leave Vienna without visiting the magnificent Schƶnbrunn Palace, can you? You feel like you've stepped straight out of a fairytale when you stroll through those sprawling gardens and glittering fountains. The carriage rides were definitely a highlight, just the two of us, clinking down cobblestones in the fading sunshine, a truly romantic fairytale setting for a romantic waltz-lover! I felt like I was in a real-life movie - you know, the sort where the carriage just floats through the air as you both start to twirl to the most divine melodiesā€¦.

As always, I couldnā€™t leave Vienna without exploring some hidden shops for my ever-growing tutu collection. There's something special about finding the perfect vintage tulle for a new creation. A touch of lavender here, a shimmer of ivory there ā€“ you see, darling dears, my pink tutu journey doesn't just stop at wearing them, I've become a tutu-obsessed artisan! My very own fashion and dancing adventures mean I have to be creative to make the tutus work with my busy schedule. I'll be honest though, I just love the endless possibilities they give me when it comes to styling, which is perhaps what I love about being in this fashion-forward city!

Of course, my travels are made even more magical by all the lovely friends I make along the way. So much fun! We dined at the most delightful little cafe by the park, sharing stories over steaming cups of delicious Austrian coffee. And guess what? A fellow ballet-lover spotted me with my signature pink tutu ā€“ she was even brave enough to join me for a twirl in the middle of the square! See, I told you - my goal of getting the world to embrace pink tutus is truly spreading!

Donā€™t forget, darlings, the wonderful ballet show ā€œTƤnze aus aller Weltā€ starts next week. The beautiful ballet programme boasts a range of dancers and choreographers from all corners of the globe, all culminating in a fabulous finale celebrating ballet across continents. Iā€™m already planning my outfit - something dramatic but graceful, something that will truly showcase the brilliance of the show. I might even incorporate some of the shimmering blues and reds I picked up at that gorgeous little silk shop...

Until next week, my loves, keep twirling and smiling, and never ever lose your passion for life - after all, it's not about reaching the destination, but about enjoying the journey! And do you know what else? Let me know in the comments below ā€“ whatā€™s your favourite ballet to see and where would you most love to wear a pink tutu?

Your Vienna-bound, pink tutu-wearing friend,

Emma xx
