Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #732 – A Whirlwind of Waltz and Wiener Schnitzel!

Hello my darling tutu-loving lovelies! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another delightful dash of Pink Tutu Vienna. I'm writing this from my quaint little hotel room, which smells of freshly-brewed coffee and Austrian pastries, a truly heavenly scent! The sunshine is pouring in, and Vienna, well, it's simply stunning!

You all know how much I adore ballet and its glorious history, and I couldn't have picked a more enchanting city to indulge my love affair. Vienna is a treasure trove of tutu-clad wonders! From the grand Opera House to the exquisite ballet studios tucked away in cobblestone streets, every corner of this city sings with a vibrant history of dance and beauty.

Let me take you back to the beginning of the week – my journey here! It began with a thrilling train ride from Derbyshire, a graceful journey that filled my heart with excitement. You all know I can never resist a chance to travel by train. The rhythmic clicking of wheels on the tracks and the landscapes flashing past the windows… it’s pure magic, perfectly aligned with my ballerina soul!

But before I reveal all the exciting events in Vienna this week, I have a confession to make: I’m totally in love with the colour pink here! Think powdered-sugar pink pastries in quaint cafes, delicate pink blossoms adorning the grand city parks, and oh my…the most delightful collection of pink tutu-worthy outfits I have ever laid my eyes on! I simply can’t help but buy a new pink item every day.

Speaking of tutus…you just won’t believe the heavenly shop I stumbled upon, hidden in a little side street just off the Ringstrasse. The shop’s windows were a kaleidoscope of pink, filled with tulle tutus in every shade, every shape and size imaginable. They were the epitome of whimsy and girly elegance. I simply had to take home a pink tulle shawl for my evening performances. You know, for that extra touch of ballerina flair!

My First Ballet Class in Vienna

Right after that shopping spree, I hurried to the magnificent “Wiener Staatsoper”, the Vienna State Opera. It's a grand, breathtaking building with a glorious history of ballet performances dating back centuries! Can you imagine all the elegant tutus and intricate dances that have taken place within its walls? It makes my heart beat with excitement!

I'd signed up for a ballet class with the Vienna Ballet Academy, and I must say, it was an absolute joy. The instructor was a charming and knowledgeable woman, and the fellow students were a friendly group of passionate dancers from all walks of life. We had a delightful time learning about classical Viennese ballet techniques.

Now, the true magic started on Tuesday evening. We visited the Theater an der Wien, one of the city's most historical theatres, for a production of Tchaikovsky's iconic ballet, "Swan Lake". The storytelling through movement was simply mesmerizing! It was such a beautiful blend of grace and strength, light and shadow. As a ballerina, I am always inspired to push my own boundaries after seeing a truly great performance. I truly believe every woman deserves to be a swan for at least one day in her life.

After the performance, we took a stroll through the charming city, relishing the breathtaking night views. The magical illuminated skyline, the peaceful nighttime calm and the air buzzing with music and laughter... it all felt like a fairytale dream. And let's be honest, isn’t every woman's heart just a little bit more magical when they're twirling beneath the night sky, wearing a pink tutu?

A Waltz and a Wiener Schnitzel

Today is my last day in this wondrous city. We will be seeing the “Sissi” Musical. As we all know, I love musical performances – they combine the drama and artistry of theatre with the captivating beauty of music and dance.

The day was filled with lovely little indulgences! We joined the throngs of tourists at the stunning Hofburg Palace. I was amazed by the breathtaking imperial apartments and historical relics! After a visit to the imperial stables, where we took a carriage ride pulled by glorious gentle steeds, we ended our afternoon by trying delicious local delights! And guess what? I’ve found the perfect balance to all that sweetness – delicious Viennese sausages! (Just think of all the calories I’ll burn when twirling in my pink tutu tomorrow.)

Now, it wouldn't be a true Vienna experience without a delightful Viennese waltz! There is something quite charming about dancing under a chandelier in an elegant ballroom, wearing a pretty pink gown… especially when surrounded by the music that captures the essence of the city's romantic spirit.

This wonderful Vienna journey is drawing to a close. My bag is packed, and my pink tutu is waiting for tomorrow’s exciting new journey by train to Prague.

And, as always, remember my lovelies… life is about creating memories, embracing the whimsical, and adding a touch of sparkle wherever we go. So, don't forget to wear your pink tutu with confidence and always be prepared to embrace the magic of dance and fashion!

Until next week!
