Hello, my dearest tutu-loving friends! It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for a brand new blog post from your favourite pink-tutu-wearing travel blogger - me! I'm Emma, and this week, I'm whisking you off to the stunning city of Vienna, Austria.
Oh, Vienna! The waltz capital of the world, a city steeped in history, music, and of course, glorious ballet. This city is so vibrant, so full of life, and you can't walk ten paces without bumping into something amazing.
This week, my travel bug got a particularly fierce bite, and I simply had to get my tutus waltzing around this enchanting city. As usual, I've been planning my adventures for weeks. My luggage is overflowing with my favourite pink tutu creations - a new feather-light, tulle-dream of a tutu from my favourite shop in Derbyshire, a bold magenta tutu with cascading layers that would make any ballerina swoon, and of course, a few classic black tutus for a touch of Parisian elegance.
My first stop in Vienna had to be the Vienna State Opera. Can you imagine my delight? I saw a performance of "Swan Lake" that sent shivers down my spine! The dancers were phenomenal, and the costumes were truly dazzling, featuring tutus that would make a prima ballerina weep with envy. After the performance, I did a little ballet shopping, grabbing a couple of charming tutus for myself - a pretty pastel pink one with a swirling satin ribbon, and a dark burgundy tulle masterpiece that I can’t wait to show you.
But it wasn't all about ballet! My next stop was the glorious Schönbrunn Palace, where I indulged in a delectable Viennese pastry while watching the resident Lipizzaner horses strut their stuff in a breathtaking display of grace. I mean, how perfect is it that even the horses in Vienna wear tutus - albeit of a different kind!
Shopping, however, is always a highlight of any travel adventure, and Vienna did not disappoint! I managed to find the most amazing pink-hued accessories – a fluffy, fuchsia-pink clutch, a sparkling pair of pearl earrings, and a heavenly rose-gold lipstick that has me positively beaming.
Vienna, you are truly a haven for all things fabulous and fun. You've certainly added some pink shimmer to my travels this week. I think the city needs a pink tutu revival. Imagine, every passerby in their finest tutu designs! Maybe I’ll make it my mission to get the city on a tutu-wearing spree. I’m going to start by encouraging a Tutu Parade for the next Viennese Ball – wouldn't that be a sight?
