Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 908 – A Whirlwind of Waltz and Wiener Schnitzel!

Dearest readers! It’s Wednesday, the sun is shining (even in Vienna!) and that means it’s time for another dose of Pink Tutu Vienna! This week, I’ve been absolutely swept off my feet by this beautiful city. From the magnificent architecture to the delicious food, Vienna has stolen my heart and, of course, it's the perfect place to twirl in a tutu.

As you all know, I fund my travels through the magic of dance, performing at events and theatres. It's hard work but so very rewarding! I just finished a series of ballet performances in the countryside outside Derbyshire. It’s been a whirlwind, but what better way to fuel my adventures? Now, I'm here in Vienna, surrounded by history, music, and a sprinkle of fairytale charm.

This week, Vienna has been treating me to an absolute feast for the senses. On Monday, I spent the morning in the enchanting Schönbrunn Palace gardens, imagining the waltzes that must have been performed there. In the afternoon, I ventured to the Vienna State Opera for a captivating performance of Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss, a beautifully layered piece that truly moved me. The opulent surroundings and the stunning costumes were a dream for this ballerina!

On Tuesday, I had the delightful experience of learning how to waltz from a charming gentleman named Hans at a traditional Viennese ball. He made it so easy and it truly is such a graceful and elegant dance. We ended the evening with delicious traditional Viennese schnitzel and a generous helping of Sachertorte! It’s no wonder Vienna is known for its culinary delights!

Of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without visiting the Vienna State Opera House itself, the epicentre of opera in Vienna! I just had to pay my respects and it's truly a magnificent structure that transports you back in time. It’s a must-visit for any ballet or opera enthusiast!

As for the ballet scene in Vienna, it is simply thriving. This Saturday, I am going to be attending a performance of The Nutcracker by the Vienna State Ballet at the Vienna State Opera. I can’t wait! I have heard such amazing things about this company. There is truly something so enchanting and magical about seeing The Nutcracker in Vienna, and I’m absolutely giddy with anticipation.

For my sartorial selections this week, I have been leaning towards the elegant side of Parisian chic mixed with some classic Austrian elegance, naturally, incorporating my signature pink tutus. To complement my Viennese adventures, I've chosen a combination of vintage lace tops and luxurious, soft velvets. My trusty tutu, naturally, features delicate floral patterns and a whimsical pink tulle to create the perfect touch of ballerina whimsy! For accessories, I've opted for statement earrings and some lovely vintage brooches, embracing a little bit of European flair.

Now, tell me, my darling readers, what’s been happening in your neck of the woods this week? Any exciting ballet performances? New favourite outfits? Don’t forget to send me your pictures on social media - we can create a wonderful online community for pink-tutu lovers! Remember to check back next Wednesday for more adventures from Pink Tutu Vienna!

Until next time, keep twirling and dreaming big!
