Well, darlings, I'm back from my whirlwind adventure in the city of waltzes and palaces – Vienna! It was a true pink tutu dream! I must confess, a certain pair of sparkling pink tutus may have been my only baggage – well, apart from a copious amount of tulle and a handful of ballet shoes, of course. But how else does one explore a city so steeped in dance history?!
A Trip on Tracks and a Ride to Remember
My journey began with a whistle-stop train ride from Derbyshire, where I had been performing a rather delightful production of “The Nutcracker”. Train travel is truly my happy place – just me, my pink tutus, and a stack of ballet history books! Speaking of history, you know I love digging into the past.

Imagine my delight when I arrived at the heart of Vienna’s grand Victorian elegance! This city breathes history. From the opulent buildings with their grand arches to the cobblestone streets where countless ballerinas have strolled before me, Vienna is a waltz through the past! My favourite discovery, though, had to be the Hofburg Imperial Palace, home to the famed Vienna State Opera! My pink tutu shimmered with a special kind of delight when I explored the magnificent hallways and staircases that witnessed centuries of waltzing history.

Oh, my dears! A performance at the Vienna State Opera is a truly transformative experience! I confess, even the most seasoned ballet enthusiast like myself finds herself a bit giddy when the velvet curtains part to reveal the opulence and the anticipation. My favourite part, you ask? The chance to admire the ballerinas in their beautifully crafted tutus! Just picturing their movements and the way the light glistens on the fabrics, all while listening to the rich music – pure magic!
Vienna in Pink: Fashion Fun & Ballet Buzz
Who knew Vienna would be a haven for pink tutu-loving ballerinas like myself? Everywhere I turned, there were shops brimming with delicate fabrics, exquisite lace, and exquisite hats. I had a proper old time browsing for pink delights - I managed to get my hands on the most darling tulle, perfect for my next creative tutu creation! I am certain I’ll have a pink-tutu-filled Vienna post very soon.
Tutus, Treats and Treasured Moments
Between rehearsals and exploring the city's history and culture, I took time for a bit of tutu fun! One of my favourite pastimes in Vienna? Wandering the delightful Naschmarkt with its colourful stalls overflowing with local delicacies. Of course, a Viennese coffee and pastry are always a necessity when one has worn a tutu for several hours!
