Vienna, Vienna, you're a dream come true! (Post #919)

Hello lovelies! It's your favourite tutu-wearing travel blogger, Emma, reporting live from Vienna, the city of waltzes and wonder. Today's post, a Wednesday treat, of course, is extra special. Why? Because I'm celebrating something huge - I'm officially over halfway through my "Every Tutu-Wearing Princess's Grand Tour of Europe"!

Vienna feels like a fairy tale come to life. The streets are cobbled and lined with magnificent buildings, the air smells like coffee and pastries, and even the pigeons look like they've been styled by a fashionista. As I gaze at the Baroque palaces and stunning gardens, I feel transported back in time to an age of waltzing ladies in elaborate gowns and dapper gentlemen with powdered wigs.

But let's get back to my favourite topic: the tutus! This city is a tutu lover's paradise! Everywhere I look, there are gorgeous fabrics, opulent lace, and breathtakingly beautiful clothes that just beg to be swirled in a grand pas de deux. Yesterday, I stumbled upon a hidden boutique overflowing with vintage ballet shoes - think sparkly silk slippers and exquisite satin pumps. The owner, a sweet, silver-haired woman who was practically waltzing around her own shop, gave me a fascinating history of the famous toe shoes worn by dancers like Anna Pavlova and Margot Fonteyn! Turns out the designs of these tiny shoes have evolved dramatically over the centuries, much like tutus! Who knew!

I can't wait to try out my newly-acquired vintage ballet slippers at a local class! Yes, I'm embracing Vienna's elegant ballet culture! There are so many fantastic performances here. Last night, I saw a rendition of "Giselle" at the Vienna State Opera, and my heart was swept away by the delicate movements and stunning costumes. And tomorrow, I'm attending a "Tutu-Inspired Fashion Show" hosted by a local charity dedicated to making ballet accessible to everyone. The fashion designers involved have all chosen tutus as their source of inspiration, and I'm so excited to see how they'll bring the "ballet spirit" to the runway.

Now, my dears, let's talk about the wardrobe! For Vienna, Iโ€™ve packed my very best tutu-tastic ensembles. You all know that I always aim to stay true to my pink-tutu-loving heart. Today, I'm wearing a pastel pink tulle tutu layered over a silky floral dress, perfect for strolling through the streets and soaking up the sunshine. For tomorrow's fashion show, Iโ€™ve picked out a bold, statement tutu with vibrant, swirling patterns that's guaranteed to turn heads.

As the sun dips lower in the sky, casting a golden glow over the city, I reflect on this amazing journey. I feel so incredibly grateful to be sharing this experience with you, my dear blog readers! Remember, lovelies, it doesn't matter where you are, you can always embrace your inner ballerina. So put on a tutu, spin around, and celebrate the beauty of life. Vienna is a testament to the magic that can unfold when you follow your dreams, and embrace the joy of being yourself.

Now, excuse me, I have to go explore more of this magnificent city! I'll leave you with a few snapshots of my Vienna adventures:

A montage of images:

  • A picture of Emma standing in front of the Vienna State Opera House in her pink tutu.
  • A photo of a vintage ballet shoe from the boutique Emma visited, showcasing the delicate stitching and silk material.
  • A snapshot of a beautifully decorated carriage horse, drawing a carriage through the streets of Vienna.
  • A photograph of Emma in front of a fountain with ornate decorations, smiling with delight.
  • A photo of a ballet dancer performing gracefully at the Vienna State Opera, adorned with a white, flowing tutu.

Stay tuned for my next post!

Sending love and twirls, Emma xoxo
