Pink Tutu Vienna - #1030 - A Waltz Through the City of Music
Hello my darlings!
Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where tutus reign supreme and the colour pink is always in season! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a fresh Pink Tutu Vienna post, and this week I'm overflowing with excitement – I'm in Vienna! Oh, Vienna, you magical city of music, history, and waltzes... you've already stolen my heart.

As a self-proclaimed ballerina who dreams in pirouettes, there's no place more captivating than the birthplace of Strauss. From the moment I stepped onto the platform of Vienna Hauptbahnhof, the grand architecture, the cobblestone streets, and the sound of street musicians playing Mozart filled me with an almost overwhelming joy.
A Journey of Ballet and Beauty
It’s no secret that my travels are always a grand adventure in fashion. I made my way to Vienna by train (how utterly charming!), adorned in a pale pink cashmere coat, my trusty tutu peeking out beneath (I always pack a few in my suitcase, just in case!) and a vintage velvet beret to complete the look. Don’t you think it was perfect for a waltz through the Austrian countryside? I felt like a little fairytale character.
Vienna, I've learned, is a city where elegance meets a playful sense of style. There are grand cafes, hidden boutiques brimming with lace and velvet, and shops showcasing beautiful handcrafted shoes – heaven! And, oh, the people! So sophisticated and charming, a stark contrast to the casual dress style back in Derbyshire.
Exploring the Viennese Dance Scene
You know me – I love my ballet, and Vienna is truly a dream come true! Last night I saw an amazing performance at the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera). It was a classical production of Swan Lake and let me tell you, the choreography was exquisite. Every pirouette, every leap felt effortless and magical, just the way I imagine it to be! But that's not all, Vienna's got this vibrant street scene bursting with talented performers, ballet and beyond. It’s truly inspiring!

Tutu-fying the City of Music
One of the biggest perks of being here in Vienna has got to be all the beautiful shops brimming with luxurious fabrics and stunning accessories. Just picture my eyes wide, a big smile across my face, clutching a pale pink feather boa, dreaming of incorporating this Viennese touch into my own little pink world. This city has me craving all things elegant – delicate lace, flowing chiffon, and, of course, a sprinkle of that shimmering silver and gold!
The Viennese have a sophisticated air that resonates in their attire too. From vintage inspired tailoring to exquisite jewellery, there is an almost ethereal air about it. This has to be the city where elegant femininity truly thrives.
What’s in Store for the Week
Oh, Vienna! There’s so much on my list:
A visit to the Museum of Musical Instruments to dive into the rich history of musical artistry.
And you know how I love ballet history! This weekend I’ll be checking out a lecture about the legendary dancers of the Viennese Ballet and I'll be sure to share my notes with you all.
This city is a wonderland for horses! Imagine a lovely carriage ride through the Prater park with a beautiful horse, my tutu flowing behind me – what a sight! And, to top it off, there are beautiful riding schools in Vienna, which makes my ballerina heart soar even higher!
Next week I’m planning to check out the Vienna Horse Riding Show and even possibly try out a few lessons. If you have any insider tips or favourite riding schools, let me know!
Follow my Pink Tutu Adventures!
Of course, I'll be documenting every single twirl, every delicious cake, and every amazing find in Vienna right here on my blog! So keep those pink tutus ready, darling! And don't forget to follow me on Instagram – @PinkTutuVienna – for more live, twirling updates.
I'm already dreaming of a Vienna sunset, maybe a glass of Austrian wine, and the magical rhythm of the city. And, if you see me wandering through the city in a beautiful tutu, give a little wave. Because Vienna – and my Pink Tutu – are here to stay for a little while!
Lots of love and twirls,
Emma
