Vienna, Vienna, How I Love Thee: Pink Tutu Adventures in the City of Waltz #1096

Hello darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, straight from the heart of Vienna. I'm absolutely positively tickled pink to be in this gorgeous city! It's every bit as beautiful as I imagined, with grand buildings, bustling markets, and enough pastries to send you into a sugar coma (in a good way, of course!).

I've already indulged in the most divine apricot strudel, danced through the city centre in a bright pink tutu (naturally!), and even saw a stunning ballet performance at the Vienna State Opera. The whole experience has been magical, and it’s only Wednesday!

Now, for those of you new to the world of Pink Tutu, let me give you a little rundown of this week's Viennese escapades!

From Derbyshire to the Heart of Europe

As many of you know, I love travelling by train. There’s something romantic about chugging through the countryside, watching the world go by from my window, and sipping a hot cuppa. It’s a journey that gives you time to reflect, plan outfits, and daydream about all the fabulous experiences waiting in the next destination.

Vienna, however, had an extra special twist. Imagine my delight when I discovered that, to reach the city, I could hop on a beautifully restored horse-drawn carriage! Now, you may be thinking, "Emma, is that really the most efficient way to get around?" To that, I say: efficiency is for accountants! This is about embracing the fairytale! The carriage ride was a real treat - clopping hooves, a gentle sway, and the fresh air, oh, it was delightful.

A City Steeped in History & Tutus

Of course, no visit to Vienna is complete without a waltz through the streets. I had to! With my bright pink tutu twirling around me, I felt like I'd stepped out of a painting - just a touch of pink against the regal architecture. And you know what? It was an excellent conversation starter. Locals, tourists, pigeons, even a dachshund! I had a conversation with everyone I encountered. My Tutu really does make everyone smile, that's what I love about it.

I’ve also been exploring Vienna’s rich history and culture. You guys know my obsession with ballerinas and tutus - those floaty, fabulous garments have a long and illustrious history. Here in Vienna, I visited the Museum of Performing Arts, which houses a treasure trove of ballet costumes from past eras, including those with dazzling pink hues!

Opera House Magic and Ballet Bliss

On Monday, I treated myself to a ballet performance at the iconic Vienna State Opera. Now, you know my feelings on ballets; I adore them! So, when I got the chance to see "Giselle" on the grand stage with the Vienna State Ballet, I leapt at the opportunity. The talent of these dancers was astounding, the story beautifully conveyed, and the atmosphere electric. My heart truly soared with every twirl.

You'll see some pictures of the opera on my Instagram and Pinterest pages later today - you just HAVE to see the stunning costumes.

Fashion & Shopping Adventures

Of course, no trip is complete without a shopping spree! Vienna has a ton of incredible boutiques, brimming with treasures for all styles. I picked up a pair of pearl earrings that I will wear for ages! My favourite store, however, was a little antique shop where I found a stunning vintage pink silk scarf. I’m just hoping the scent of lavender from all the other beautiful vintage things doesn’t linger for too long... it is incredibly potent! I must have bought half of Vienna by now, and that includes the entire stock of pink tutus! But honestly, my tutus have to be of the very finest quality and pinkness, because only then can I hope to fulfil my lifelong mission of making the world a pinker, fluffier, and more sparkly place!

More Than Just Pastry & waltzing

Of course, the pastries. I have to mention the pastries! The apple strudel was an absolute dream - delicate, flaky crust, gooey apple filling, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for that extra touch of heaven. They say everything in Vienna has an essence of Viennese waltzes, so maybe that's the secret to their pastry magic!

But it's not just the pastries and the waltzing that make Vienna so special. It's the feeling in the air, the joy that bubbles up from every corner, the energy that draws you in. It's a city that makes you feel like a princess, even if you're just a girl in a pink tutu!

Vienna is absolutely living up to its reputation for being a city of enchantment. I could spend a lifetime exploring its streets, admiring its architecture, and sampling all the pastries. However, my pink tutu has adventures lined up elsewhere. And besides, if we never left a place we'd never truly appreciate its beauty!

Join me next week for the next installment of my Austrian adventure! Until then, twirl with happiness and never be afraid to let your pink tutu shine!

Stay tuned, darling!

Lots of love, Emma
