Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 1193 - A Whirlwind of Pink and Waltz!

Hello my dearest tutu-twirling friends! It's Emma, back from the magical metropolis of Vienna, Austria! This week, I'm bursting with so much to tell you, my head is practically spinning like a pirouette gone wild!

This Wednesday, the sun was shining brightly, which is a rarity for March in Vienna, but the atmosphere here is always warm and welcoming. I arrived in style, of course - by train, gliding through the stunning countryside with a beautiful view from my carriage window. This train journey was almost as romantic as waltzing around the Hofburg Palace. Speaking of which, I'm planning a grand ball-gown affair there later this week!

But back to the journey. I decided to travel in my most luxurious tutu, a stunning tulle number that shimmered in the sunlight like a thousand tiny diamonds. You see, I truly believe every journey deserves a sprinkle of pink and a touch of sparkle, wouldn't you agree? I'm all about making a statement, and my tutus are my ultimate sartorial expressions.

My arrival in Vienna was like stepping into a beautiful painting. Imagine cobblestone streets, charming cafes, grand buildings with ornate facades, and music swirling through the air. I immediately felt the rhythm of the city, a melody of history, art, and culture, beckoning me to explore.

After checking into my lovely hotel, with its gorgeous pink rose decor (of course!), I started my whirlwind tour of Vienna. I explored the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburg Emperors, feeling like I had stepped back in time. Then, it was off to the Albertina Museum, a treasure trove of masterpieces and artistic expressions, leaving me utterly mesmerised.

Speaking of masterpieces, I can't talk about Vienna without mentioning the ballet! This city is synonymous with elegance and grace, and its ballet scene is a captivating world of its own. The Vienna State Opera is renowned worldwide for its exceptional productions, and I was lucky enough to see an incredible rendition of "Swan Lake." The dancers were phenomenal, the costumes stunning, the music magical. Oh, I even caught a glimpse of a ballerina who had chosen to wear a pale pink tutu! I simply had to rush over to say hello! It was such a joy to chat about our passion for pink tutus and ballet.

Speaking of tutus, I couldn't resist visiting the city's famed "Tutu Boutique," where I found the most magnificent array of ballet shoes, leotards, and of course, tutus. From the classic tulle designs to the more modern and whimsical creations, the selection was absolutely divine. And of course, I had to purchase a stunning lavender tutu for my upcoming evening performance at the local community theatre. I know, I know, it's almost criminal for a ballerina not to wear pink, but I couldn't resist this delicate lavender shade, it looked absolutely exquisite with my new satin pointe shoes!

As for shopping, Vienna has an abundance of vintage boutiques, quirky gift shops, and grand department stores. I couldn't leave without a beautiful pair of Viennese porcelain dolls, a delicate floral embroidered scarf and a hand-painted ceramic teacup. My suitcase was quite heavy but my heart was full of joy.

In the evenings, I savoured the magic of Viennese culture by attending a traditional Wienerlied performance at a quaint café. The lilting melodies and storytelling captivated me, transporting me to a world of romance and laughter. It truly felt like the scene of a grand opera.

One evening, after a sumptuous meal at a traditional Viennese restaurant, I found myself strolling along the charming streets, taking in the sights and sounds. The street performers were incredible, from street musicians with their graceful violin melodies to talented dancers, twirling in the warm lamplight. The air was filled with such charm and beauty. And yes, one street performer was even wearing a sparkly blue tutu. Imagine my joy, she let me have a picture with her. It's now proudly framed in my pink room back in Derbyshire, where it brings a touch of Vienna to my little haven.

Of course, a visit to Vienna wouldn't be complete without a carriage ride through the beautiful park of the Schönbrunn Palace. The horse trotted along gracefully, pulling the elegant carriage, making me feel like I was in a romantic fairytale. It was the perfect end to a whirlwind of adventure and discovery. I even snuck a few photos to post on my blog! You'll see them soon, dear readers, promise!

Now, I'm ready to head out to the Grand Ballroom for the ball tonight, I've chosen my most magnificent pink gown for the occasion! Imagine, waltzing under the sparkling chandeliers with my own pink tutu as my crown. You know, every day should be filled with such joy and wonder, don't you agree?

I can't wait to share my ball gown adventures with you next week, dear readers. Until then, may your days be filled with sparkle, grace and most importantly, pink tutus!

Sending you all the biggest ballerina hugs from the heart of Vienna!

Your pink tutu loving Emma,

xxx
