Vienna, Darling! My Pink Tutu Adventures Continue (Blog Post #1373)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another dose of pink tutu adventures, this time straight from the heart of Vienna, Austria! I know you're wondering, "Emma, how do you get to travel so much?", and the answer, my dears, is simple: ballet! My performances fund my travels, and Vienna was absolutely calling my name.

This majestic city, with its Baroque palaces and cobblestone streets, has been whispering to me about its ballet history for months. You see, my love for ballet isn't just about the twirling and leaps – I'm deeply fascinated by the history of dance, and Vienna holds a special place in the ballet world. It's the birthplace of some of the greatest composers and choreographers, like Mozart and Beethoven, who've inspired countless ballet scores. Plus, imagine waltzing through the streets, Vienna is a haven for ballroom dance!

Speaking of waltzing, I've been doing a little waltzing of my own around the city, and it's truly magical! My latest pink tutu ensemble is perfect for strolling through the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace – picture a billowing, powder pink tutu with sparkling pink sequins, paired with a chic black corset and ballerina flats. It's both elegant and whimsical, a true reflection of the spirit of Vienna.

Today, I'm off to explore the Vienna State Opera, one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world! The Viennese waltz was even immortalised in Johann Strauss’s most famous opera "Der Rosenkavalier"! Did you know that they even have their own Ballet Company called the Vienna State Ballet, I think a trip there might just have to happen tomorrow! They're known for their exceptional artistry and exquisite productions, and I can't wait to witness their magic on stage. I'll be sure to share all the glitzy details with you on my next post.

While exploring the city's heart, I stumbled upon the most delightful shop called Salon Prêt-à-Porter – filled to the brim with the most exquisite fabrics and trims! This little shop, tucked away in a charming alleyway, had so many delightful colours. After all, what's a ballet dancer to do with so many delightful dresses and costumes when she’s on the road? A quick browse was absolutely necessary. And wouldn't you know it, I came across the perfect fabric for a new tutu! Imagine a soft, silvery grey fabric, perfect for catching the lights of the stage, and of course, covered in delicate pink sequins! This shop was the perfect pitstop before my Opera trip!

After a long day exploring the cultural gems of Vienna, I decided to indulge in a traditional Viennese Sacher-Torte. Oh, my darlings! You have to try it! Rich, decadent chocolate cake, layered with apricot jam, and covered in the most divine chocolate glaze. A symphony of flavours and textures that just melted in my mouth. I almost forgot to write this post!

The best part about travelling? Finding unique treasures wherever I go! This week I came across a beautiful silver necklace with a tiny ballet slipper charm that reminds me of every pirouette and jeté I've ever taken.

For those of you who are dreaming of taking a trip to Vienna, let me tell you: this city is full of surprises. For me, my trip to Vienna has truly been a celebration of dance, history, and fashion. It's a place that ignites my love for life, ballet, and of course, pink tutus.

Speaking of tutus, have you entered my "Pink Tutu Contest" yet? Every month I choose the most dazzling pink tutu image, posted by a tutu lover, to be featured in my blog, so get those cameras ready and show off your pink tutu pride!

Next week I'm off to…wait for it….Italy, for an amazing experience! I can't wait to explore the stunning Italian countryside! Keep following my adventures at www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday. Don't forget, darling, always embrace your inner ballerina and wear your pink tutu with pride!

With love and twirls,

Emma

P.S. If you ever visit Vienna, make sure to check out the Schnitzel and its "schön" history. Vienna, as many may not know, is where the famous schnitzel got its beginning. Imagine that – ballet and Schnitzel, now that’s my idea of a delicious adventure.
