#PinkTutuVienna: Whirlwind Waltz Through Vienna - Post #1435

Dearest tutu-loving friends!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuVienna blog post! I'm currently sipping on a divine latte (with an extra shot of pink, of course) in a delightful little cafe here in the heart of Vienna, and the sound of cobblestones clicking underfoot mixes with the lilting melodies of street musicians. This city truly is a dream, full of waltzing romance and a charming air of old-world elegance. And just like any good ballet performance, there's an incredible energy swirling all around.

I know you've been waiting with bated breath to hear all about my recent adventures! As always, this week has been packed with fabulous tutu-filled happenings - a glimpse into Vienna's history, some truly spectacular fashion finds, and a ballet performance that literally left me starry-eyed! But let me back up a bit and tell you all about it from the beginning...

Journey to Vienna:

Remember when I told you I was smitten with the idea of train travel? Well, it truly is a dream. This week I hopped aboard the Orient Express for a trip that felt straight out of a glamorous novel. Picture this: me in my favourite pink tulle dress, sipping on vintage champagne while gazing at the breathtaking countryside whizzing past. My dear little tutu, perfectly balanced in my lap, almost seemed to sway along with the gentle rhythm of the train! It was a journey made for the romantic, the elegant, and yes, the hopelessly tutu-obsessed! (Of course, I had to make a quick stop in Prague to pick up a stunning beaded headband. One can never have too many, can they?)

Ballet Magic and Imperial History:

Once I arrived in Vienna, my dear friend Anya (a fellow tutu-enthusiast!), whisked me away to a visit to the grand Schönbrunn Palace. We strolled through the gardens, feeling like we were walking in a beautiful ballet sequence – think "Sleeping Beauty" but in real life, except there weren't any thorns! The palace was truly breathtaking, a marvel of architecture and opulent beauty. Anya even got a photo of me twirling under a breathtaking chandelier in one of the grand ballrooms - the perfect way to capture a fairytale moment.

But hold on to your tutus, my lovelies! This is where things get REALLY interesting. That evening, Anya took me to a ballet history museum - my tutu-loving heart just about burst with joy! The museum was crammed with historic tutus and ballet costumes from all over Europe, from delicate 18th century creations to elaborate tutus from the golden age of ballet! The sheer variety was astounding! I had to get a photo of myself with one of the museum's original 19th century tutus - talk about a perfect picture moment for #PinkTutuVienna!

Speaking of ballet performances, Vienna simply does them with gusto! The State Opera is world-renowned for a reason! This weekend I saw a production of "The Nutcracker." I truly believe I've found a new love – this performance was magical, truly breathtaking. As Clara battled the Mouse King, my heart hammered in my chest. When she awoke and met the Sugarplum Fairy, I was mesmerized. And during the waltz of the flowers, I almost...well, you can just imagine how much I almost lost myself in the sheer beauty of it all!

Shopping, Style, and Some Very Pink Treats:

Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without some indulgent shopping, and the Viennese style is quite something. From their beautiful antique shops, offering rare vintage treasures, to the stylish boutiques lining the Graben and Kärntner Strasse, it truly is a shopper's paradise. Let me tell you, my friends, my bag is already bursting with gorgeous silk scarves, decadent lace trims, and a few stunning statement pieces for my wardrobe (all in shades of pink, naturally!)

And since no trip would be complete without some serious sweet indulgences, I've been having an absolute ball trying the city's famous treats. From "Sachertorte" (a rich chocolate cake - and a total must!), to delicate "Kaffeehaus" cakes that melt in your mouth, my sweet tooth has been in heaven. I even found a delightful little confectionery store overflowing with pink macarons - they almost tasted like tulle, I swear!

Ballet Inspired Fun and the Art of Twirling

As I look back over my time here, I can't help but smile at the magic Vienna holds. The grand avenues, the regal history, and of course, the exquisite dance that fills the air with such grace and beauty. I am forever enchanted by the grace and elegance of ballet, and Vienna seems to embody this spirit in every corner. It’s hard to not twirl when you’re surrounded by so much beauty. I caught a glimpse of myself reflected in a shop window on a cobblestone street this morning - my pink tutu was blowing softly in the autumn breeze, and I just started to spin and twirl! Honestly, who can resist such inspiring surroundings!

So here’s the big question: Do you have any Vienna recommendations for a tutu-loving ballerina on a whirlwind trip? What’s the next big city on your travel wish list? And what must-see sights should I have on my radar when planning my next exciting journey? Tell me everything, because you know, the more, the merrier when it comes to adventures in the land of twirls and sparkles!

And remember my lovelies, keep dancing, keep smiling, and keep that tutu spirit alive! It’s what makes the world such a beautiful and wonderful place.

Until next Wednesday, keep twirling!

Emma xoxo
