#PinkTutuVienna - Vienna Waltz! π©°β¨
Post #1545
Well, hello my dearest tutu-loving darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuVienna post, straight from the heart of this magical city! π»
I'm Emma, and I'm absolutely brimming with excitement to share my latest Viennese adventures with you. You see, this city is positively brimming with inspiration - the architecture, the history, the music, the fashion, and most importantly, the ballet! π
This week I've been spinning, twirling, and gliding through the streets of Vienna, all whilst channeling my inner Marie Antoinette in my brand-new, oh-so-pretty pink tutu! You know me, can't resist a touch of that feminine magic! π
Vienna, You Have My Heart
This city, my loves, is simply enchanting! From the majestic SchΓΆnbrunn Palace to the vibrant Stephansdom, I find myself mesmerised by every turn, every cobbled street, every graceful archway. And of course, I've been diligently exploring the ballet scene, too!
Speaking of ballet... I absolutely had to pop into the Vienna State Opera. Can you believe it? A glorious, opulent building dedicated to the artistry of ballet! Just walking into that foyer felt like stepping into a fairytale - velvet drapes, golden chandeliers, and a whole team of incredibly talented dancers flitting about! It was just divine!
The Vienna Ballet Company - A Dream Come True
Of course, I just had to see a performance. The programme featured an eclectic mix of ballet, classical music, and theatrical charm, but oh my word, the Vienna State Opera Ballet Company blew my mind! They moved like ethereal creatures, with such precision and grace, I almost thought they were made of silk! I felt myself completely swept away by the sheer power of their talent. The story was beautifully told through their dancing - I even had a little cry, bless your heart, I am quite emotional! π₯°
After the show, I took a stroll through the beautiful city park - a haven of calm amidst the bustling city life. The winter light was setting a dreamy backdrop, and I realised - it felt like I was straight out of one of my favourite ballet books! β¨
Tutu Time
You simply cannot visit Vienna without indulging in the city's delightful culture, and one of my favourite ways to soak it all up? Of course, shopping! My dear friends, Vienna is a haven for anyone who adores clothes and vintage treasures. And, let me tell you, I found myself in a veritable heaven of pink tulle and velvet! π I actually bought the cutest little vintage beret and a truly divine scarf. The colors are just perfect! (Don't worry, a picture is coming soon! π).
But Vienna, it seems, is also the perfect setting for ballet inspired outfits! Everywhere I turn, the streets seem to echo with ballet inspiration - flowing dresses, chic jackets, and even the tiniest, sweetest ballerina-style bags - gorgeous! π©°
Back to Basics: A Love Letter to the Tutu
Speaking of tutus, it felt wrong not to take a few photos for the blog in front of Vienna's beautiful Imperial Palace! With the golden light filtering through the leaves of the trees and the castle in the background, my oh-so-pretty pink tutu looked utterly divine! π₯° My lovely friend Sarah from Vienna was my personal photographer - we have so much fun doing these shoots together.
And, on that note, my darling friends, you are going to love this little update! I've finally received a response from the world's most famous ballet archives, The Royal Academy of Dance - a response to the request I made years ago. They are going to publish my essay, which talks all about the history of tutus, how they evolved, what their symbolism represents, and all sorts of other ballet fascinating facts. This essay is my baby, so I am beyond thrilled that they have agreed to share my writing with other passionate tutu lovers! ππ©° (Just as soon as it is edited! π)
The Magic of Ballet:
My time here in Vienna is about so much more than tutus and shopping, it's about immersing myself in a city bursting with culture and creativity. It's about embracing the magic that comes from appreciating dance and theatre - from its beginnings all those centuries ago. It's about reminding myself why I love what I do, why I put on that pink tutu every morning! π
This trip is definitely one for the memory bank. And I promise, there's much more to come!
I will, of course, keep you all up to date on everything I'm discovering here in beautiful, charming Vienna. What will I do next? Hmmm.. let me see what delights Vienna has in store for me on my upcoming adventures!
See you all next Wednesday, my tutu-tastic darlings! π
Love,
Emma π©°
